ZTE’s new flagship poses next to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, and it looks more modern
If you look at the gallery below the article, you’ll see the two phones side-by-side. At first, it may seem like the Galaxy S22 Ultra has noticeably thinner bezels, but if you take a closer look, you’ll realize that a part of its frame is silver here, which is why it seems like it’s not there in some images. Upon closer inspection, their bezels are, well, at the very least equally thin, though truth be said, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra’s even seem to be slightly thinner. We’re talking about the top and bottom bezels here. When it comes to side bezels, it’s difficult to judge, as the two displays are not equally curved. The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra’s side bezels seem to be considerably thinner, but it’s possible its display curvature is simply more pronounced, which is why its bezels may seem to be thinner. The Galaxy S22 Ultra does have a curved display, but its curvature is not extreme in any way. Both phones feature proportional designs, though the corners on the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra are a bit more rounded.
The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra does not have a display camera hole
You’ll notice one major difference between the designs, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a display camera hole, and the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra does not. ZTE’s new flagship includes an under-display camera. The two phones are almost identical in terms of height, but the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra is considerably narrower. They’re also quite similar in terms of thickness as well. The images you can see below come from Ice Universe, a well-known tipster. It seems like he managed to get his hands on the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra in China. Too bad he didn’t take images of the back sides of the two phones, but you have plenty of images to check out below, regardless.
