Google’s official Pixel Watch strap allows you to use regular 20mm bands, kind of
In order to use regular bands, you need a connector that allows for that. Luckily, one of Google’s official watch bands does come with such a connector, the ‘Crafted Leather’ band. It comes with a connector for regular 20mm bands, and a leather band on it.
You can, of course, remove that watch band from the connector, and attach any other you want, as long as it’s a 20mm one. This connector adds regular lugs for 20mm bands to the watch, essentially. Do note that this watch band does not have a quick-release switch, you’ll need to use a pin removal tool in order to remove it. Once you do that, though, you can use bands with a quick-release mechanism, of course.
The ‘Crafted Leather’ band is out of stock now
Unfortunately, though, the Crafted Leather watch band is out of stock now. You’ll need to wait for it to become available in order to take advantage of this. Many other watch bands are also out of stock at the moment. Now, we do expect such connects for 20mm bands to become available from third-party sources soon. We don’t doubt that we’ll see them pop up in online stores, as they did for the Apple Watch. The one we’re talking about here is an official one, though. So, if you’d like to keep it official, you’ll have to sit tight, and wait for this watch band to become available again.
