The Xiaomi 12 Ultra launch date has been tipped, and it could be accurate
Several sources said that the phone is coming in early July. Xiaomi itself said that it will launch in July, but the company did not say when exactly. So, July 5 is certainly a possibility. The global launch will follow later on, it seems. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will become the first smartphone that comes as a result of a partnership between Xiaomi and Leica. Xiaomi announced its Leica partnership not long ago. Leica is no longer partnered up with Huawei, so Xiaomi decided to jump in. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be a flagship smartphone, though not the first one from the company in 2022. The Xiaomi 12 Pro launched a while back, alongside its sibling, the Xiaomi 12.
This handset will come with Leica lenses, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, and more
This ‘Ultra’ model, however, will launch with an improved camera setup, Leica lenses, and a better SoC, amongst other things. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will fuel the phone. That processor delivers better performance, power consumption, and thermals than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Two different sets of Xiaomi 12 Ultra specs surfaced thus far, so quite frankly, we don’t know which one is accurate. So, take the following information with a grain of salt. A 6.73-inch QHD+ OLED display was mentioned. That will be an AMOLED display, an LTPO 2.0 panel, and it will be curved. Android 12 will come pre-installed on the device, along with Xiaomi’s MIUI skin. A 4,900mAh battery is tipped for the device, along with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. A 50-megapixel main camera will allegedly be included, along with a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 48-megapixel periscope telephoto unit was also mentioned, as was a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. A ToF camera may sit on the back as well. The company will include LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage inside of this phone. The device itself also leaked, in CAD-based renders. It will include a circular camera island on the back, it seems, with a red Leica logo.
