Verizon is targeting the Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro to business customers. Calling it an “enterprise-ready 5G smartphone,” the carrier says the phone is tailored for today’s mobile business needs. It boasts Samsung’s award-winning Knox security and offers access to Verizon’s BlueJeans videoconferencing platform and Verizon Mobile Device Management apps. It also supports Verizon One Talk Enhanced Dialer and Mission Critical Push to Talk (MCPTT). But that isn’t all. The Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro is a MIL-STD-810H-certified Android smartphone designed to survive and work in extreme weather and environments. Whether employees are in the office, factory, or in the field, this phone works efficiently everywhere. It boasts military-grade durability with a sturdy frame and ridged edges that allow a stronger grip and better shock absorption. The phone has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro’s Touch Sensitivity feature makes the screen usable with gloves or in rain. The screen itself comes with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, while a rubber bumper around it protects the screen from shattering in a fall. Other features that make it suitable for use in rough environments include POGO pin charging (in addition to USB Type-C), a removable battery, and two configurable physical keys. Of course, all this makes the phone a little bulky, measuring 168.8 x 79.9 x 9.9mm in dimension and weighing 235 grams. But people who need it know what they’d get.

While ruggedness is the main USP of the Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro, it is a decent mid-range smartphone too. It boasts a 6.6-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. For photos and videos, you get a 50MP primary camera at the back, along with an 8MP ultrawide lens. The phone has a 13MP camera on the front. Other highlights include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, face recognition, Android 12-based software, Dolby Atmos sound, Samsung DeX support, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Wi-Fi 6E. The Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro packs a 4050mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. This rugged Samsung smartphone is now available from Verizon in the US. The handset is priced at $599.99, but the carrier is offering a discount of up to $250 if you sign up with a new line of service or upgrade an existing line.
