Today Sony has updated that original post with new details on timing. Stating that it’s ahead of schedule and things are moving along faster than it had anticipated. This bodes well for players in the US, and really any of the Americas. Because the dates for release in those countries have been pushed up. Since we don’t know what the original planned dates were, one can only assume the updated time fame was by a fair margin.
New PlayStation Plus plan tiers should launch in the US on June 13
If you subscribe or plan to subscribe to PlayStation Plus in the US and are interested in the new plans, you’re in luck. Because Sony plans to launch the new tiers in the Americas on June 13. But, there is one thing to keep in mind here. Sony is listing June 13 as a “target” release date. That means there is still a possibility that the target date could be missed. Judging by Sony being ahead of schedule, this probably won’t happen. But it’s a good thing to keep in mind just in case. With that said, new dates have also been listed for other regions. Asia markets excluding Japan are now expected to see the release on May 23. Japan will follow with a planned release date on June 1. And following the Americas launch on June 13, Sony is planning for a release in Europe on June 22. Beyond Europe, the company doesn’t mention any other regions. So it’s safe to assume that for now, additional regions are potentially following original planned release times. Whatever those happen to be. Sony’s new tiers for PlayStation Plus will include three plans to choose from. PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium. You can read more about the plan details in our previous post.
