Twitter is $136,250 behind on payments for its San Francisco office
Elon Musk’s cost-cutting campaign has affected Twitter in many ways, and the billionaire is even auctioning office coffee machines and furniture. Besides halting payment to vendors, Twitter refused to pay for Musk’s charter flights. This was during his first week as the company owner. The New York Times also reports that Twitter hasn’t paid the rent for its global offices to cut costs and save some money. Musk has shown that he’s willing to do anything to keep the platform profitable, and he might even decide to shut down some Twitter offices worldwide to save more on costs. However, Twitter can’t escape from paying rent. Sooner or later, Musk will need to write a check for $136,250. Elon Musk has recently lost his place as the richest man on the planet, and many believe that his occupation on Twitter has stopped him from handling his other companies, including Tesla. The EV manufacturer reportedly plans to lay off thousands of employees following its stock crash. Some sources also reported that Musk’s controversies on Twitter caused some Tesla customers to cancel their preorders and leases. Musk is now about to step down as Twitter CEO, but his successor is yet unknown.
