I’m told that due to supply chain issues, the Galaxy S22 lineup has had a slight setback. Pre-order for ALL devices is still happening on event day (Feb 9) However, availability has now been split: S22 Ultra: Feb 25S22 & S22+: Pushed to March 11 pic.twitter.com/pp2IFAYXSN — Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser) January 31, 2022
Great news for Galaxy S22 buyers
When this rumor first surfaced in late January, many were hoping that this was not the case. And well, it’s good news that it is not. While Samsung is still likely going to be facing a supply crunch for the Galaxy S22, it’s pretty likely that they have enough parts to build and sell millions of each model. Don’t forget that Samsung does make all of the chipsets for all the variants of the Galaxy S22 series. They even manufacture the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. So of course, they will be prioritizing its own smartphones ahead of competitors with these chips. Samsung is still one of the only ones that is having almost no issues with these supply crunches, which is pretty impressive. Particularly the chipset shortage. Additionally, it’s worthwhile to pre-order as Samsung is doubling your storage for free. So you can pay for a 128GB model and get 256GB of storage for free. And the same goes for the 256GB model getting bumped up to 512GB. Probably one of the best pre-order promotions we’ve seen in quite some time. Samsung is also offering up to $200 in gift cards to Samsung.com. So yeah, pre-ordering is a really good idea.
