As per Reddit user u/micku7zu (via Android Police), the issue occurs when an accessibility service with the “canPerformGesture” permission is turned on. When this is the case, the screen can pause for a couple of seconds whenever the battery drops by 1%. Needless to say, this is a pretty annoying bug, especially for a flagship of the Pixel 6’s stature. The remedy, according to the Reddit user, is to disable all accessibility services on the device. This includes services like Voice Access, though we won’t recommend this fix for users who rely on accessibility services regularly. But if you don’t use accessibility services at all, this fix is worth trying. Disabling all the accessibility services is probably not the most streamlined process. Users need to disable every downloaded accessibility service and then turn off the features by heading over to Settings – Accessibility.
Pixel 6 users are also awaiting a fix for the network connectivity bug
Fortunately, Google has acknowledged this particular bug, though the company is reportedly having trouble recreating the issue. Customers are already voicing their displeasure about the bug in the Google Issue Tracker, so hopefully, a fix isn’t far away. As you’re probably aware, this isn’t the only bug currently affecting the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Several users have complained about network connectivity issues with the new Pixels following the December 2021 security update. In response, the Google Support team contacted Pixel 6 owners to remedy this issue by updating Carrier settings. But Google is yet to roll out the update on a broader scale. The company could fix this particular bug with the January 2022 Pixel update. Also this month, some Pixel 6 owners said the auto-rotate and automatic horizontal photography functions were broken. Although restarting the device seems to fix the issue temporarily, users say the bug pops up again shortly after.
