This means you will be able to copy and paste text between your Android phone and laptop. The new clipboard feature is bundled with a new update, which is rolling out for the SwiftKey app. SwiftKey is regarded as one of the best keyboard applications for Android. The amount of features, smooth user experience, and other functionalities that it offers takes a huge leap over other similar apps. Apparently, with the new SwiftKey clipboard sync feature, you would save a lot of time. This negates the need to rock back and forth between your phone and laptop for text entry. The new clipboard sync feature is arriving with the SwiftKey version 7.9.0.5. Previously, it was available with the beta version of the app, but now it is rolling out via the stable channel. According to a report by Android Central, the ability to copy and paste text between your Android phone and Windows laptop with SwiftKey’s latest update works like a breeze.

The Clipboard data is encrypted and won’t be linked to your Microsoft account

Well, there are a few things that you need to keep in your mind before you could use this new feature. Of course, you need the latest SwiftKey app installed with your Microsoft account logged in. Do note this won’t work with your Microsoft Work account or Gmail account. To turn ON this feature, you need to open SwiftKey app Settings on your Android phone. Then head over to the “Rich input” section and choose the “Clipboard” option. Here, simply toggle ON the option to “sync clipboard history to the cloud”. If you own a Samsung Galaxy S20 or S21 series phone, this feature isn’t anything new for you. It has been available for both devices via the “Your Phone” app. You also need to enable the feature on your Windows PC. To do that, head over to Settings > Clipboard. From there, make sure to turn ON the “Clipboard history” and “Sync across devices” options. Users can view their copied text by pressing Win+V keys together. SwiftKey will retain the copied text only for an hour. This does not apply to pinned texts. Only the last copied text will appear on the prediction bar. Microsoft ensures that none of your clipboard data is stored or linked to your Microsoft account.
