SoSecure Android app wants to keep students safe
This app basically connects college students with ADT security in order to keep them safe. It does that in a number of ways, regardless if they need reassurance, or any time of emergency service. Now, SoSecure added two brand new features to the app. It now allows you to set personalized, secret phrases that you can use to activate SOS. You can basically use your voice to call for help, while not letting anyone know you’re doing it. Those calls for help will go straight to ADT. The second added feature allows you to use video calls as a deterrent. You can start a video call with an ADT agent the moment you start feeling unsafe. You can livestream the video, and the agent will take action based on it.
Some new features have been added to the paid subscription models
One thing to note is that both of these features have been added to the paid subscription model in the app. Do note that you can call ADT for free anytime, though, this app can be used with a free tier as well. These are only new features that were added. SoSecure has a ton of existing features in the app. Most of those features are locked behind a subscription, though, either Plus or Premium plans. Many people would gladly subscribe to something like this to keep their kids safe, though, of course. That’s a small price to pay for some peace of mind. The free plan does include 24/7 SOS response from ADT, SMS chat, and a SoSecure Widget, which allows you to request help straight from your home screen.
Plus and Premium tiers offer plenty of added features
The Plus and Premium tiers offer a ton of added features that can be extremely useful in a pinch. The TrackMe Activity Tracking is included in the Plus tier, for example, and the same goes for Voice Activation and Video Monitoring. The Premium tier offers even more features, plus all the Plus tier features. The Plus tier costs $4.99 a month / $49.99 a year. The Premium tier will set you back $9.99 a month / $99.99 a year. Feel free to download the app for free, and try it, before you decide whether you need a subscription or not. Do note that this is a US service, though, the app is region-locked.
