Snapchat will let you change your username

We understand; you were a hip young 16-year-old who was super into Baby Shark, but now, you’re no longer about that life. However, your Snapchat username, @bAbYsHaRk_luver06, begs to differ. A lot of people want to change their Snapchat username at some point. Whether they’ve changed interests, or they want to shift to using their account for their business. Maybe, their username reflected a relationship that no longer exists, or maybe the opposite; maybe they got married and their username reflected their maiden name. Whatever the reason, Snapchat has good news. According to Engadget, Snapchat will soon let users change their usernames. This is great news for people who really want to change it without ditching the entire account. This change will come about on February 23rd, and it will be available for both iOS and Android.

You just need to be sure you REALLY like your new username

While this is all fine and dandy, there’s one catch. Users who choose to change their usernames can only do so once a year. Google had a policy like this, but users could only change their names once every 90 days. Other platforms have similar policies, but once a year seems a bit harsh. If you’re excited about being able to change your username on Snapchat, you don’t have long to wait. You will just need to plan out a good name because you’ll have it for the next year.

In Other Snapchat News: Snapchat will share ad revenue with its creators

We’re all used to seeing ads on basically every form of media known to mankind, but sometimes, they can have a monetary benefit for creators. Snapchat is going to be introducing mid-roll ads to stories, and the creators will get some of the ad revenue. This is something that every creator wants to hear. Right now, we don’t know just how much story will make per ad, and we also don’t know how much money Snapchat will skim off the top. However, one thing that we do is a huge bummer. Right now this feature is only reserved for the Snap Stars. This means that only the most popular creators on the platform will be able to use this feature for the time being. Honestly, that’s a bit of a slap to the face of the common users. Hopefully, this changes eventually.
