New rumor claims that the Exynos variant of Galaxy S22 is not happening
This information has been relayed by LetsGoDigital, and the site is listing Super Roader as a source. His YouTube video is included as well, and embedded below this article. He is a former Samsung employee, in case you’re wondering. The report claims that Samsung will use Qualcomm’s SoC in all regions, including both Europe and Asia. What’s the reason behind this? Well, perhaps chip shortage? Perhaps the AMD GPU implementation did not go as planned? Who knows. Now, this information would have more weight if not for Ice Universe, one of the best-known tipsters around. He went to Twitter soon after this information went out, and said that he got some new info regarding the situation.
A well-known tipster disagrees
He claims that the Galaxy S22 series will ship with the Exynos 2200 in some regions. So… you can choose what to believe here. Truth be said, I’m more prone to believe Ice Universe, due to his track record. On top of that, I can’t really imagine the Galaxy S22 series arriving exclusively with the Snapdragon 898, to be quite honest. Perhaps that’s something that many users would want, but Exynos is Samsung’s very own chip, after all. On top of that, Samsung and AMD made a big announcement regarding an AMD GPU inside Exynos chips, so… it would be odd if that variant does not arrive in at least some regions. The Galaxy S22 series is expected to launch on February 8, if the latest report is accurate. So, it’s not exactly right around the corner. We’ll have to wait and see what Samsung decided.
