As per SamMobile, this software update for the Galaxy S20 FE bears the firmware version G780GXXU3BUL9. Although the update is only rolling out in Malaysia at the moment, it should inevitably land in other markets over the next few days. Samsung is including the December 2021 security patch with this release. This is a bit surprising given that we’ve seen a few other updates from Samsung with the January 2022 patch already. If you’re not seeing the update on the Galaxy S20 FE yet, we recommend navigating to Settings – Software update and downloading the update (if available).
Samsung is also rolling out the One UI 4 update for the Galaxy A72 and the Galaxy Note 10 Lite
As most of you are aware, Samsung has been on a roll over the past few weeks with regard to its Android 12 rollout schedule. While the company’s flagships were expectedly the first to get the update, Samsung also had a few surprises this week. Devices like the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and the Galaxy A72 were the most recent beneficiaries of the coveted new update. Android 12 with One UI 4 brings about a handful of visual changes, including new icons and widget styles. Samsung’s implementation of the always-on display is also getting a revamp with this new software update. In other Samsung news, we’re only a month or so away from the release of the Galaxy S22 lineup. We’ve learned a great deal about the device already, courtesy of revelations via leaks and other sources. Samsung has always been prone to leaks, and the trend certainly isn’t changing this year. There’s been a fair bit of speculation about the Galaxy S22 Ultra, with a recent report suggesting that the entry-level model could only feature only 8GB of RAM. This is odd given that the base model of the Galaxy S21 Ultra featured 12GB of RAM. The revelation comes from benchmark results for model numbers SM-S908B (Exynos 2200) and SM-S908U (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1).
