The June SMR for the Galaxy A13 in the US came more than a month after the initial rollout in international markets. But Samsung has been surprisingly quick to release the July patch to the device stateside. Perhaps the phone is picking up the new security update in America ahead of other markets. A wider rollout should follow in the coming days. The latest update for the Galaxy A13 comes with firmware version A135U1UES2AVG1 in the US and A135MUBS1AVF1 in South American countries. The phone isn’t getting any user-facing changes or improvements here. The new software package is all about vulnerability fixes for the month. Samsung has already revealed that the July SMR patches over 60 security flaws in its Android-powered devices — smartphones and tablets. According to Samsung’s official security bulletin, this month’s release takes care of 23 Android OS vulnerabilities, including three critical ones. These issues affect all Android devices, regardless of the manufacturer. Additionally, the Korean firm patched 41 vulnerabilities specific to its Galaxy devices. These issues affected various services, including the Knox security platform, App Lock, Messages, Contacts, App Linker, and more. Some issues compromised the security system of the device, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized access.

July update reaches the Galaxy A13 in the US

All of these fixes are now rolling out to the Galaxy A13. If you’re using the phone in either half of America, you should get a new update with the July SMR soon. As usual, your phone will notify you of the OTA (over the air) rollout. You can also go to the Software update section in the Settings app and tap on Download and install to manually check for updates. Note that OTA updates may not be available immediately to everyone in a region. It could take a couple of days to reach all eligible units. Launched earlier this year with Android 12 out of the box, the Galaxy A13 will also receive the Android 13 update. The new version of Android should reach the phone in the first half of next year. We will tell you when the rollout begins.
