Spotted by Techgoing, the Galaxy A54 5G appeared on the 3C website with the model number SM-A5460. That’s the Chinese version of the phone. The European version is identified by SM-A546B while the US version should bear the model number SM-A546U. The 3C listing revealed that the upcoming premium mid-ranger from Samsung will support 25W fast wired charging, unchanged from the Galaxy A53 5G launched this year. While no other information was revealed, the very sighting of the Galaxy A54 5G on the 3C website hints at its nearing launch. Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G and the Galaxy A52 5G before it in March 2022 and 2021, respectively. So it was natural for us to expect the new model to arrive in March 2023. However, the previous two models didn’t receive the 3C certification until January of the new year (via). This suggests that the Korean firm is planning to release the Galaxy A54 5G sooner. Unfortunately, we don’t have any other evidence or even rumor about an early launch of the device. So for the time being, it remains mere speculation. But we hope to learn more about the Galaxy A54 5G and its potential launch timeline in the coming weeks. After all, the rumor mill doesn’t stay mum for too long as far as prominent Samsung devices are concerned. And the Galaxy A54 5G certainly qualifies as one. We will keep you updated accordingly.

Rumored Galaxy A54 5G specs

This isn’t the first time we are talking about the Galaxy A54 5G. There have been a few leaks and rumors about the device in the past. We have heard that the upcoming premium mid-ranger will sport one less camera at the back and downgrade to a 50MP primary camera from a 64MP unit on the current model. That said, a resolution downgrade shouldn’t affect the image quality if Samsung improves the camera software and algorithms. As for the removal of one rear camera, Samsung is reportedly planning to get rid of the depth sensor from all of its Galaxy A series phones next year. This isn’t a major concern either, though. Meanwhile, the handset is said to get a marginally bigger battery (rated capacity of 4905mAh vs. 4860mAh on the Galaxy A53 5G). Maybe the removal of one camera allowed for that. Stay tuned for more information about the Galaxy A54 5G.
