Just a few weeks ago, Samsung launched their OneUI 5 update for all eligible Galaxy devices. This update brought a bunch of changes to Samsung devices and is still rolling out to more devices across the globe. Despite the features this software upgrade came with, its manufacturer thought it wise to integrate the back tap gesture in some devices. This gesture setup is made available thanks to the Samsung Good Lock (an application accessible via the Samsung Galaxy App Store). With this application, users can experiment with more features, tweaks, and set up that are not native to their Galaxy device. It is more of a customization tool exclusive to Samsung Galaxy users.

Accessing the Samsung Back Tap gesture feature via the Good lock application
With the Good Lock application, users can test and use features that are not available on the Galaxy smartphone. With the latest upgrade to this system, users can now pick from a host of prompts once they double-tap on the back of their device. Quick actions like taking a screenshot, launching an application, activating Google Assistant, and so much more. There are certain limitations to this feature that affect its usage on a Galaxy device. Once the device is below 15%, on sleep mode, etc, the Samsung Back Tap feature won’t work. If you are a Samsung user, head over to the Galaxy App Store and install the Good Lock application to gain access to this new feature. It is good to note the new back tap gesture might only be accessible by flagship devices. Other low-end and budget devices in the A-series might be available. Possibly, this feature might launch as a built-in feature on Galaxy devices with the release of future updates to the OneUI system.
