The company’s VP actually got interviewed during MWC 2022, but the interview got published yesterday. In addition to being the company’s VP, Madhav Sheth is also the Realme International Group President.
Realme VP confirms the company is interesting in the US, and also foldable phones
When asked about the US availability, he said that Realme is only present in a third of the world at the moment. That accounts for 60 countries, but it seems like the company plans to keep expanding. He believes that there’s an opportunity for Realme in the US. He said that he sees Realme reaching the US, that is his wish, especially considering how some other brands have thrived in the country. Still, he did not share more info that than. The interviewer also praised Realme for keeping the charger in the box, and Mr. Sheth agreed that it’s a good thing. That’s especially true considering this is a 150W charger that we’re talking about, for the GT 2 Pro specifically, as that’s the phone that was mentioned (and announced at the MWC 2022). Realme’s VP was also asked about foldable smartphones, as if the company is working on one. He said that he doesn’t have anything to report on at the moment. He indirectly said that Realme wants to make a great foldable before it starts offering it to users.
Realme is currently working on under-display cameras for smartphones
He added that Realme doesn’t want to compromise too much when it comes to smartphones, and that includes foldables. They have to be up to par. He said that the company is currently focused on 150W charging and under-display cameras. So, he basically confirmed that we can expect a smartphone with an under-display camera from the company… in the near future.
