Why is Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders so expensive?
Now, this particular smartphone was billed by Qualcomm as a handset that’s a step above others. Including others that are powered by its top-tier Snapdragon 888 processor. And that’s not all down to the 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, backing up that chipset. Or its super-fast 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. As already reported, this decidely luxe smartphone packs those components alongside a 4,00 mAh under a 6.78-inch screen. And that’s an HDR 10/ HDR 10+ AMOLED panel as well. At a resolution of 2440 x 1080 and with a refresh rate of 144Hz. Qualcomm and ASUS also opted for Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass Victus. Making this one of the strongest smartphone screens well beyond its ability to display things clearly too. Embedded in that screen is a 24-megapixel selfie snapper. Around the back, Qualcomm opted for a high-end 64-megapixel f/1.8 primary snapper. And backed that up with a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide and 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Of course, there’s not going to be any headphone jack for this handset either and it only ships with Android 11 with no promise of an Android 12 update. But Qualcomm is making up for that with a Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2 fingerprint scanner and 65W charging. That’s in addition to 5G support and the packed-in true wireless earbuds, and a phone case. As well as the standard USB-C to USB-C cable and an additional USB-C to USB-A cable.
