TikTok will disappear from most US government devices TikTok has been staring at a nationwide ban from US government-issued devices for the past few weeks. Members of the US Senate unanimously approved the No TikTok on Government Devices Act in mid-December. Originally introduced by Senator Josh Hawley (R-Missouri), the Act was crammed into the omnibus bill. The bill received the Senate’s approval with a 68-29 vote on December 22nd. The House voted 225-201 the next day to pass the bill and presented it to President Joe Biden....

First spotted by the folks at WABetaInfo (via), WhatsApp is seemingly testing a version of the app where messages can be deleted no matter when it was sent, effectively removing the time limit. This feature appeared within the latest WhatsApp beta v2.21.23.1 through the Google Play Beta Program. WABetaInfo managed to delete a message sent up to three months ago using the “Delete For Everyone” option. There’s no word on when this feature will widely roll out to users When the feature was first launched, WhatsApp allowed users to delete messages for up to seven minutes....

In its current form, multi-device support on WhatsApp can’t pair with multiple phones on a single phone number. WhatsApp allows one phone and four other devices, ranging from computers, tablets, or the Facebook Portal. While this is technically multi-device support, the inability to pair another smartphone is currently missing. This development came just over a month after NYT addressed one of the most significant issues with Wordle. The company added support for cross-device syncing of streaks and stats. You need to sign in with an existing free or paid NYT account or sign up for a new one to be able to sync your game data across devices. Earlier, Wordle streaks were device-specific. You can carry your Wordle streaks and stats to The New York Times Crossword app or the news app by signing in with the same account....

The YouTube video chapters feature was introduced back in 2020, after a round of testing. This feature lets you skip to the part of a video that you want to see. It negates the need to specifically scroll through the seek bar to land at the exact viewing time on a video. The uploader of the video needs to add chapters manually by signing in to the YouTube studio. If a YouTuber hasn’t added video chapters, then YouTube would use machine learning to add automatic chapters....
