Facebook and Instagram inject code using their in-app browsers This was discovered by Felix Krause, and it gives us some insight into what two of the biggest social media platforms are doing. Whenever you tap on a link in Facebook or Instagram, they open a custom-built in-app browser to display that link. When they open that browser, the apps then inject java code into each and every site you visit. This code allows the companies to keep track of every action that goes on in those sites....

Once you take a selfie, the app will analyze your emotional state through your facial expression. Based on that, it will provide you with a list of best matching movies according to your mood. This may sound like a gimmick, but it seems to be working, as quite a few people are commending this app....

With Firefox 91, the browser will default to HTTPS if the website supports the more secure protocol, even if the user manually enters HTTP. The connection will also be switched to HTTPS if a user clicks on an HTTP link unless the website doesn’t support it. In such cases, your connection will fall back to the insecure protocol. HTTPS by Default is currently only available when browsing in a private window in Firefox....

According to Equal Leaks on Telegram, MediaTek’s next-gen flagship SoC will be based on a 3nm process node. This is an expected generational upgrade considering all current flagship chipsets, including the Dimensity 9000, use the 4nm architecture. Taiwanese chip giant TSMC will reportedly manufacture the upcoming MediaTek chipset. Compared to the previous generation SoCs, i.e. those based on 5nm processes, TSMC’s 3nm chipsets will have 1.7 times higher logic density and will bring about an 11 percent improvement in performance....

Galaxy A13 5G: leaked specifications and design The leaked renders reveal that the Galaxy A13 5G will sport a triple camera setup at the back. It’s a combination of a 50-megapixel (f/2.0) primary camera, a 5-megapixel (f/2.2) ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensor. There’s no camera bump on this phone. Instead, each sensor individually protrudes out of the back panel. The LED flash sits just beside the vertically aligned camera array....

Talking about colors, the Galaxy A52s is seemingly coming in fours hues. The leaked renders show the phone in white, violet, black, and mint green colors. That’s largely unchanged from the standard Galaxy A52, except that Samsung is introducing a mint green variant in place of the blue variant. The rest of the design language is fairly Samsung-ish. We can see an earpiece grille up top, just above the selfie camera....

Galaxy-exclusive Samsung SoC may not arrive until 2025 This information comes from Ice Universe, a well-known tipster. He says that Samsung plans to utilize a Galaxy-exclusive chip in the Galaxy S25 series scheduled to arrive in 2025. He is obviously referring to a high-end chip. Now, back in April, the confirmation came from TM Roh, the President of Samsung’s mobile business. He revealed those plans during a town hall meeting back in March, but the report appeared in April....

Launched in August 2018, the Galaxy Note 9 received monthly security updates until last year. As expected, Samsung then dropped it to quarterly updates. And a year later, the company has completely lifted support for it. But the phone may still pick up some surprise security updates a few months down the line. Samsung tends to do that. The folks over at SamMobile claim that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will reach a peak brightness level of an astonishing 1,750 nits. That’s significantly more than 1,500 nits of peak brightness the Galaxy S21 Ultra offered, which is the highest yet on any Samsung smartphone. So the upcoming phone will set a new record. It will boast a standard brightness level of 1,200 nits. Interestingly, the Galaxy S22+ will also offer the same levels of standard and peak rightness as the Galaxy S22 Ultra....

The extreme fold test was live streamed on YouTube and ran from June 8 to June 13. Even though the hinge stopped working properly after such torture, the device itself didn’t break down. It was in perfect working condition at the end too. The touchscreen worked fine, and so did the cameras and speakers. That’s despite the clamshell foldable being submerged in water and covered in dirt and dust as part of this durability test....

The latest update for the Galaxy Z Flip in the US comes with firmware version F700USQU4GVE9 for the carrier-locked variants and F700U1UEU4GVE9 for their unlocked counterparts. The OTA (over the air) rollout is already available to users on most carrier networks. The remaining few should also get on board soon. According to the official changelog, the foldable is gaining Bluetooth-related stability and reliability improvements as well as some bug fixes with this update....
