A new report from GamesBeat details that Activision leadership was already looking to sell the company last year. After putting out feelers to see who might be interested, it came to Microsoft in November of 2020. Talks began there. But they wouldn’t come to a head until just this week. When the details of the agreed upon acquisition were made public. Pending regulatory approval, the rest will probably seem like history come June of 2023....

In terms of timing, the change will be implemented the week of April 4. What does this change in office policies mean for Google workers in the US? Now, Google isn’t jumping straight back into an office-only policy for its workers either. In fact, the company says that its expectations center around a 3-day workweek. At least in terms of in-office work. Googlers will need to work the remaining two days remotely....

Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, Samsung left much of what wasn’t broken alone, and focused on improving the basics. Like battery life and performance. If there’s any area where the Galaxy Watch 4 series needed improvement, it was these two. And while performance is really only marginally better (mostly the same in our opinion), the battery life was significantly improved. And to us, this is the most important thing Samsung could have focused on....

An earlier leak had revealed that the vanilla Tab S8 will feature 45W charging, but perhaps that’s true for all three models. If you recall, that’s the same charging speed we get on the Galaxy Tab S7 series. So the new models seemingly won’t bring any upgrades in this department. It’s not really a bad thing though. 45W fast charging is quite fast for tablets. The Galaxy Tab S8 series could also feature battery packs identical to the Tab S7 series....

The dial measures 46mm in diameter and is 10.6mm thick. This is a pretty big smartwatch and packs a 475mAh battery....

With 1000 nits of peak brightness, the screen is visible under direct sunlight, making it a perfect fit for adventures. Amazfit claims the watch will work just as fine in temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit)....

Netflix has been the top streaming service since the early 2010s, and no one could touch it. However, other companies were able to come to the market and offer their own content to stream. What made things worse for Netflix was the inflow of services like Paramount+, Disney+, Discovery+, and other companies with a massive catalog of nostalgic content that people eat up. If you take that and couple it with the fact that Netflix has been cracking down on password sharing and cranking up its prices, you can see why people are starting to emigrate from the service....

Android 12 Beta 4.1: What’s new According to the official release notes, some devices on Android 12 Beta 4 were stuck in a boot loop after restarting. The new update fixes that problem. Android 12 Bet 4.1 also fixes the issues of heads-up notifications not appearing for some users. It required users to swipe into the notification drawer to view those notifications. Not anymore though. Next up, we have a fix for the issue where volume controls weren’t working sometimes when casting....

Galaxy S10 Lite, which came out back in 2020, never really got its successor. What we actually got was the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, and that too half a year later. To recall, the phone was introduced with Android 10 out of the box. Later, it received its first firmware update in the form of Android 11. Fast forward to now, Android 12 is knocking on the doors of the device....

Samsung began seeding Android 13 to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra early last week. The initial rollout covered devices in Europe. The company gradually expanded the update to other markets. It has now reached the US too. The carrier-locked devices are picking up the big Android update with firmware version G99*USQU5DVK3 (via). The new software package also brings the November security patch, which fixes more than 60 vulnerabilities....

The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the US comes with firmware version F916U1UEU2IVK5. The update is live on Verizon, Xfinity Mobile, and Comcast’s networks (via). Samsung should soon cover unlocked units on other networks and expand the release to carrier-locked versions. The firmware version may slightly vary for the latter but the content will remain the same. Speaking of content, this update has plenty of goodies....

What will be different? When you take a 56GB game and shrink it down to maybe 1GB or 2GB, you can tell that a lot of stuff will be squeezed out. For starters, we can expect the graphics and effects to take a hit, but that shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. What people are mostly worried about is the gameplay experience. The New AirPods Pro bring a new chip and improvements to sound Apple brought some changes to its new earbuds, and they start with the new high-bandwidth connectivity for better audio over Bluetooth. Also, these AirPods have a low-distortion driver to reduce the audible distortion of the audio. Moving onto the noise cancelation and ambient mode, there are some improvements. For starters, the ANC on these earbuds is twice as effective as the ANC on the first-gen AirPods Pro....

There’s been an ongoing dilemma affecting the rollout of C-Band 5G. The technology occupies the spectrum between 4GHz and 8GHz. That doesn’t prove to be an issue in most cases, but it poses a threat to the aviation industry. Airports and planes use a bevy of different devices that use signals in the 4.2GHz – 4.4GHz range. The US Aviation Authority expressed concerns about the C-Band 5G signals interfering with the devices....

According to AT&T, its VPN at Home service will cover up to five connected household devices. All of your family members will get a secure, encrypted internet connection. The company also promises network-based protection to devices such as baby monitors and smart doorbells that “may not be able to load their own VPN.” AT&T will also provide real-time insights on the protection of your network and connected devices. The company says an average American household may have more than 32 connected devices over the next few years....

While not arriving this week, subscribers will be able to stream the all-new Saints Row game coming to PC later this month. The game officially launches on August 23 via the Epic Games Store. So as long as you own it there you’ll be able to play it through GeForce NOW. It also launches on Xbox Series X|S and PS4/PS5 if you plan to play it on console instead. The new Saints Row is being described as the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created....

The first of course, being the Master & Dynamic MG20, which we absolutely love and use as our main PS5 headset when we need one. Other than the fact that this is PS5-compatible, this Beoplay Portal is essentially the same as the first model that launched last year. It comes in the same colors, and it has the same price tag.
