Notably, according to the support page, the latest update mainly fixes several bugs related to device connectivity, safety, emergency, system, and more. Furthermore, it also includes fixes for the Play Store’s Play-as-you-go download feature. This latest February 2022 Google Play System update also adds new app discovery, enhancements for Google Play Billing, and new Play Pass and Play Points features as well....

Rolling out with firmware version A536U1UES2AVF1, the July SMR for the Galaxy A53 5G in the US is currently limited to unlocked units. The update is already available on pretty much all carrier networks, including AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Bluegrass Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile. Users on the remaining few carriers should receive the update within a few days. The carrier-locked counterparts should also pick up the new security patch soon. While the July update in Samsung’s homeland contained additional bug fixes and stability improvement, the US units only seem to be getting the latest SMR....

Starting with the Galaxy Note 9, the four-year-old Samsung flagship is receiving the new SMR on both unlocked and carrier-locked variants. The updated firmware versions for the two variants are N960U1UES9FVB1 and N960USQS9FVB2 respectively. The OTA (over the air) update is available on all major wireless carriers in the US. The Galaxy S21 FE, which went official last month after multiple delays, is also now receiving the February security update stateside....

As of this writing, the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ are receiving the June SMR (Security Maintenance Release) in several European countries, including Switzerland, Poland, Germany, and the Nordic region. The new firmware version for the phones is G97FXXSFHVF1. The update should reach other markets in the coming days. The phones aren’t getting any new features or enhancements apart from this month’s security fixes. The June SMR doesn’t seem to be available to the Galaxy S10 5G yet....

As of this writing, the October SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy S20 series is rolling out in Europe. Both 4G LTE and 5G variants of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are receiving the update. The new firmware version for the two variants is G98FXXSFFVIB and G98BXXSFFVIB, respectively. First reported by SamMobile, this update is already available in much of Europe. A global rollout, including in the US, should be just around the corner....

The cheapest Galaxy S20 model is currently picking up the new update in a handful of European countries. These include Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Slovakia, and Switzerland, according to SamMobile. The firmware version is G780FXXU5CUG6, which suggests there could be more to this update apart from the vulnerability fixes for this month. We will let you know if there’s anything notable. Talking about vulnerability fixes, you can expect plenty of those as well....

The Galaxy S22 dummy unit appeared Truth be said, this dummy unit is plain basic. It only shows the general shape of the device, with likely precise dimensions. There are no details here, like the color, pattern, cameras, none of it. This is as plain of a dummy unit as it gets. Truth be said, leaked CAD images showed us far more than this. Still, this is a real dummy unit, so whoever handled it, has a good idea how large the phone will be....

The BIS website lists the Galaxy S23 with the model number SM-S911B/DS. We have seen this model number for the phone multiple times in the past, including in online benchmarks. The Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra bear the model numbers SM-S916B and SM-S918B, respectively. The suffix “DS” confirms dual-SIM support in India. First spotted by MySmartPrice, the BIS website also lists another new Samsung device with the model number SM-K741B/DS....

The December SMR for the carrier-locked Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the US comes with firmware version F936USQU1BVL7. The same update for the Flip model bears the firmware version F721USQU1BVL9 (via). The package appears to contain more than just the latest vulnerability fixes. Unfortunately, Samsung’s changelog only says the “overall stability of your device has been improved”. Maybe it’s about some critical optimization or bug fix. The company released two December updates for the foldables in international markets....

Global smartphone shipments declined in Q3 2022 These are preliminary values, and they’re calculated for the July-September period. Canalys says that the shipments declined due to decreased consumer spending and economic uncertainty. This is actually the worst quarterly result since Q3 2014. Both Samsung and Apple gained market share, though Apple more than Samsung. The other three companies in the top 5 range either lost market share, or stayed at the same percentage....

Now, there have been plenty of amazing deals so far for Black Friday 2021, but good lord this Roku LE HD deal has to be towards the top. Normally this model, which is a Walmart exclusive, retails for $30. And that’s already a really good price point to turn just about any TV into a TV that you can stream content to. But for Black Friday Walmart has slashed the price of the Roku LE HD down to $15....

As you can by the name, this is going to stream in 1080p. This is how Google is able to bring the price down to this ultra-competitive level. Seeing as most content is shot in 720p or 1080p, and upscaled for hardware like the NVIDIA SHIELD TV, HD is going to be perfectly fine. At least for the next few years. What makes ChatGPT a serious threat to Google’s dominance is its ability to provide much information about a topic. ChatGPT pushes the traditional search engine boundaries to a whole new level. For example, you can even ask it to compose an essay or poem. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has now asked the company’s employees to respond to the ChatGPT threat. Additionally, Google employees should build A.I. products that create artwork and other images....

According to Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG), attackers use the tried and tested social engineering tactics to trick YouTubers. They send an email pretending to be from a legitimate organization or company to their targets, offering bogus business opportunities. The attackers often offer a handsome deal to the victims for short advertisements in their YouTube videos. The company has so far identified 15,000 fake accounts used to send such phishing emails....

Three current Nest cameras will be discontinued Google launched some of its current Nest cameras a couple of years ago, with the original Nest Indoor and Outdoor cameras approaching six years of age. This means that a revamp has been well overdue. Google announced the revamp to the Nest Indoor camera, the Nest Outdoor camera, the Nest IQ cameras, and the Nest Hello doorbell recently. This resulted in the discontinuation of these current models....
