According to a Bloomberg report, YouTube is looking to hire an executive who would oversee its podcasting business. The executive will be responsible for organizing and managing the millions of existing podcasts on YouTube, a company spokesperson has reportedly confirmed. YouTube might gain some podcast-specific features in the future Google’s mobile apps division is responsible for improving the user experience of the YouTube app and website. While the platform has undergone several user-facing changes over the years, the majority of them focused on improving the video experience....

“We’re excited to share more details about “New to you” – a feature helping you discover new creators and fresh content, beyond the recommended videos you normally see,” YouTube said in a community post (via). The tab is accessible from the YouTube homepage on the web, mobile or smart TVs. This “New to you” tab will help viewers discover content from lesser-known creators to boost engagement. It will be an extension of the existing recommendations algorithm, but with a focus on videos you haven’t come across before....
