OPPO’s very first foldable smartphone may include 3 displays
So, what’s going on? According to a tipster from Weibo, Arsenal, this smartphone will feature 3 displays. He even shared information about them. The main display(on the inside) will measure 8 inches, and will offer 2K resolution. It will be an LTPO display, by the way, which means it will offer an adaptive refresh rate (up to 120Hz). The secondary display, on the outside, will measure 6.5 inches. That display will offer fullHD+ resolution, and a regular 60Hz refresh rate. It’s also worth noting that it will be curved. This will be the first curved display on a foldable smartphone thus far. What about the third display, though? Well, the device will, allegedly, also feature a “small window” display, but we don’t know where will it be placed. It’s possible it will sit on the side, or the back perhaps. We also found out that this device will be a part of the “Find N” series, or so it seems. What else can you expect from it? Well, we do have some specs worth talking about.
OPPO’s self-developed ISP will be included as well
This smartphone is said to ship with the Snapdragon 888+ SoC. OPPO’s self-developed ISP will also be included in the package. The device will offer stereo speakers as well, though that is to be expected. OPPO will also include LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage, though we don’t know what exactly will be on offer. It is likely we’ll see 8GB or 12GB of RAM inside, probably the latter. It’s not that likely OPPO will aim for 16GB, but we’ll see. That’s pretty much everything we know from the spec standpoint. This smartphone is tipped to arrive before the end of the year. So, at this point, it seems like it will launch in December. December will be quite interesting, it seems, as Huawei is also planning to announce a foldable smartphone, allegedly. On top of that, the Xiaomi 12 flagship smartphone lineup will drop as well.
