OPPO may launch an ‘Ultra’ flagship in H2 2022

This information comes from Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster. He not only hinted that OPPO is working on a new flagship for the second half of the year, but also suggested it will include a new SoC. The device will allegedly include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, or whatever it ends up being called. The point is, this is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant manufactured by TSMC (SM8475), and it should offer better performance, better thermal control, and so on. So, what else could be different on this phone? Well, the periscope camera may make a return, while the Hasselblad partnership will still be a part of the package. If we had to guess, we’d say a different SoC and better camera will be included.

Its specs will likely be similar to the Find X5 Pro

The rest of the specs will probably be quite similar, as there’s not much OPPO can improve in comparison to the Find X5 Pro. That phone is truly packed with powerful hardware, the company even included ceramic backplates. Do note that the information about a second flagship is not confirmed, though. This is just a rumor at this point, and it’s possible the device won’t happen at all. Perhaps it’s a foldable device or something. Speaking of foldables, it would be nice to see the OPPO Find N make it to global markets. OPPO said when the device launched that it doesn’t have global plans for now. That phone did manage to attract a lot of attention to itself, though, so who knows. Its successor is also expected to launch towards the end of 2022.
