One UI 4.0 brings tons of changes and improvements to Samsung smartphones and tablets. As with every major Android version update, there’s an interface redesign coming our way. And this, we have a Color Pallete feature that lets you extract colors from your wallpaper and apply them to system UI elements for a consistent look. This feature is inspired by Google’s Material You theming language for Android 12. Additionally, Samsung has improved its stock apps and privacy and security features. There are also dozens of small changes and new features that improve the user experience.
Samsung expands One UI 4.0 beta to the Galaxy S10 series
It hasn’t been much long when everyone hated Samsung for being too slow with Android updates. But the Korean behemoth has gotten faster over the years. For the past year or so, the company has consistently put every other Android OEM to shame when it comes to monthly security updates. And it’s showing the same level of commitment to Android updates as well. By the end of December 2020, Samsung had released the stable Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update to three devices: the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, and the Galaxy Z Flip. But looking at the current pace, the company could go up a notch this year. Despite the heavy customization it makes to the stock Android experience, Samsung has already released the stable One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy S21 series. It is also inching closer to rolling out the big update to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3. All this while, the company is beta testing the new software for a bunch of other smartphone models, including the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, and now, the Galaxy S10 series. We wouldn’t bet against most of these devices picking up the stable update before the end of the year.
