Interested Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 users in the UK can register their devices for the beta update through the Samsung Members app. Look for a banner about this beta program and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the registration. You will need to log in with your Samsung account. Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive the One UI 4.0 beta update over the air (OTA) like any other software update. You can trigger the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install on your phone. Since this is a beta release, you can expect it to be quite unstable and laden with bugs. Some features may not work properly. Subsequent beta builds will set things right. But it’s always advisable that you back up your important data and files before installing the beta software. In case anything goes wrong, you will not lose your data.

Galaxy Note 20 series receives One UI 4.0 beta

Samsung first opened the One UI 4.0 beta program to the Galaxy S21 series in September. The company is now getting closer to releasing the stable update to its latest flagships. Meanwhile, it’s also expanding the beta program to other Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 picked up the beta update last month. The beta program was also briefly open to the Galaxy S20 series Monday but it’s no longer available. Maybe accidentally opened registrations or it was forced to pull the beta build due to some serious bugs. Nonetheless, the Galaxy Note 20 is now joining the party as well. Like any other major Android OS update, the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 also brings tons of new features to Samsung smartphones. Most notably, you’re getting Android 12’s dynamic coloring feature that will let you customize your phone’s system-wide color scheme based on your wallpaper. Clipboard Protection, Approximate Location, Video Collages, and Pet Portraits are a few others to name. Stock apps and features like Bixby Routines AR Emoji, Calendar, Gallery, My Files, and Samsung Health are also getting notable improvements.
