The Motorola Edge 2022 renders show a flat display, triple camera setup
The Motorola Edge 2022 will feature a flat display, with rather thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole. The phone’s bezels won’t exactly be uniform, but they’ll be thin enough. All the physical buttons are placed on the right side, as you can see. It seems like the phone’s frame is made out of metal, while glass will likely be used on the back. Motorola seems to be going for a matte glass, though, at least on the gray color variant we see here. Motorola’s logo is present on the back, as are three cameras. A 50-megapixel main camera is the star of the show, while a 13-megapixel ultrawide unit is also expected, and the same goes for a 2-megapixel depth camera.
A 144Hz display will also be included, as will a 6,000mAh battery
Now, the Motorola Edge 2022 is rumored to utilize a 6.5-inch 144Hz P-OLED display, along with 8GB of RAM. The phone will also pack in a rather large battery, a 6,000mAh unit, based on rumors. Stereo speakers will also be included in the package, while a Type-C port sits at the bottom. Don’t expect an audio jack here, though. That’s not surprising at all, as almost all mainstream flagships have removed it. What about the SoC? Well, you may be surprised. The MediaTek MT6879 SoC is supposed to fuel this phone. This is a brand new SoC, and we still don’t know what will its official name be. That chip allegedly has two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.6GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores working at 2GHz, and a Mali-G79 GPU. More information is expected to surface in the near future. The phone is tipped to offer stylus support, and launch in Q3 this year. The Motorola Edge 2022 will measure 160.8 x 74.2 x 8.2mm, the source claims.
