The Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are picking up the latest update with the firmware version G98xxXXSCDUJ5. The devices are unlikely to be receiving any major user-facing changes and/or new features though. We are only expecting a bunch of privacy and security fixes from Google and Samsung. As far as the detailed contents of the new SRM are concerned, the companies have yet to publish the updated security bulletin for November 2021. Perhaps the new month hasn’t arrived yet. We should get to know those details next week. When it comes to new features, Samsung would be keeping them all for the Android 12-based One UI 4.0. It is seemingly getting closer to releasing the new update in the stable channel for the Galaxy S21 series. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 should follow next before the update hits the likes of the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series. We could see the update go live for a few of these Galaxy smartphones before the end of this year.

November security update released to the Galaxy S20 series

Samsung has been consistently the first Android OEM to release a new security patch every month. The Korean giant more often than not starts seeding the latest SMR even before we have flipped the calendar to the new month. The story was the same this month as well. Samsung began rolling out the November security patch to the Galaxy S21 series last week along with the third One UI 4.0 beta. The update reached Android 11-powered Galaxy S21 units this Monday. A couple of days later, the Galaxy A32 mid-ranger started picking up next month’s SMR. Now, we have the Galaxy S20 series joining the party. If you own any of the three Galaxy S20 models, you can be on the lookout for the new update. Users in Germany will receive the update first, but it’s now only a matter of time before the rollout expands to other regions. You can expect more Samsung galaxy smartphones to jump the November security update bandwagon in the coming days.
