It is advised if you own a Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+ device and reside in the eligible region, you should update your device with the latest November security update. This is because, according to Samsung, the latest security update fixes multiple vulnerabilities related to privacy and data. However, SamMobile notes the update may include general bug fixes and would bring stability improvements.

According to SamMobile, the November security update is available in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, and Italy. In addition to Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Baltic region, the Nordic region, and the UK. Samsung will roll out the update in more regions in the coming days. To recall, Samsung released the Galaxy S9 and S9+ models back in 2018. It came with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Since then, the devices have received two major firmware updates. Currently, the Galaxy S9 series is running on Android 10 OS, and that is the last firmware update the devices will receive. Both models will receive quarterly security updates. This is really impressive. Because Samsung Galaxy S9 devices made their debut almost four years ago. Samsung should be appreciated in this regard. As usual, Samsung is releasing the November 2021 security update via OTA in batches. So, not all units in the mentioned regions will receive the update at once. If you own an eligible device and reside in the above-mentioned regions, you can update your device manually. To do that, you need to head over to Settings » Software updates. Finally, hit the Download and install button. This will start the download process of the update. After the installation is complete, reboot your smartphone.
