The Nothing Phone (1) Lite is not coming after all, company says

Nothing decided to squash those rumors really fast, reports Phone Arena. The company didn’t really have to go into details here, it simply denied that it’s working on that rumored device. So, chances are that the initial rumor was completely off. Let’s recap, though. The report initially came from The Mobile Indian, and it claimed that the device will be similar to the regular model, but without the LED Glyph system. It said that the phone will include a regular glass back. 33W wired charging was also mentioned for that device, as was 6GB of RAM. On top of everything, a 5,000mAh was tipped in that rumor, which would be an improvement over a 4,500mAh unit inside the Nothing Phone (1).

This phone was rumored to cost the equivalent of $308

The source said the display will remain the same, as will the SoC. Which means a 6.55-inch fullHD+ 120Hz display would be used, along with the Snapdragon 778G+ SoC. As icing on the cake, a $308 (equivalent) price tag was mentioned. Well, now we know that the Nothing Phone (1) is not happening, at least not yet. That’s not to say that Nothing isn’t working on a new device already. It’s interesting Nothing flat out decided to deny these rumors. Companies don’t usually do that, but there you have it. It’s nice to have official confirmation for something like this, especially if the given information is completely off. Considering Nothing’s denial, that may be the case this time around. The Nothing Phone (1) is available to purchase as we speak, but not in the US. It is available in a number of other regions, though. Nothing managed to create a lot of hype around this device, and get a lot of people interested. Quite a few of them signed up for pre-orders as well. It remains to be seen if Nothing will share some sales numbers moving forward.
