The black Nothing Phone (1) gets briefly shown in the company’s official video
That video is titled ‘Inside phone (1)’, and it provided some interesting information. In it, Nothing more or less confirmed that a 120Hz display will be included on the device, while the company also confirmed the invite system will be in place. Nothing will use the invite system initially, for the Nothing Phone (1) sales. In addition to that, Nothing also showed us the black version of the Nothing Phone (1), but only briefly. Nothing actually showed it to us several times during the video (screenshots below), but the best look comes at around the 7:57 mark. Truth be said, the device doesn’t seem to be fully assembled here, but it’s a glimpse of what’s to come. The white variant of the phone does look really interesting, but some people would prefer a darker version, with a darker frame, for several reasons. The screen ends up being more immersive that way, as there’s no silver frame on the sides. In addition to that, those LEDs on the back will have even more of an effect on a darker background.
This variant may not launch at the same time as the white model
The only question is, will the black version of the Nothing Phone (1) launch at the same time as the white one? Usually, we’d say yes, probably. In this case, well, it doesn’t have to be. Remember the Nothing ear (1) launch? Nothing first went with the white version, and then months later, it opted to offer the black variant as well. Things may be different this time around, though, we’ll see. The Nothing Phone (1) is coming on July 12, that’s when Nothing will officially launch it. The company already showed us the device, though, it even allowed MKBHD to film and release a hands-on video with it.
