Netflix launched its mobile game efforts close to a year ago. The company released a games tab within the Netflix app in November of 2021. And in that time, has added 35 games to the roster of playable titles. Netflix also officially announced its heavy interest in cloud gaming in the middle of October. And now with Spry Fox joining the company, Netflix is trying to make it as clear as possible that it’s serious about expanding its efforts in gaming even further. Netflix also says that its “games journey has just begun.” Which suggests that it’s carefully considering what pieces to put in place to make longevity a foundational part of its spot in the gaming industry. Unlike say, with Google and Stadia. Though to be fair, Google showed plenty of interest in the beginning as well. So time will tell how serious Netflix actually is.

Spry Fox will join Netflix but continue work on upcoming games

While there are likely to be some changes to the studio eventually, Netflix seems to be leaving creative freedom to Spry Fox for the immediate future and potentially the next couple of years or longer. Spry Fox already has a handful of different games available across multiple platforms. Including PlayStation, PC, mobile and more. Those games will continue to be available wherever they already are. This includes Cozy Grove, Road Not Taken, Alphabear, Alphabear 2, Bushido Bear, and Triple Town. For upcoming titles, Spry Fox says it’s working on a sequel to its game Cozy Grove, as well as non-violent MMO. The work being done on these two games gets to remain intact. Which means good things for the fans of Spry Fox and its available games. This will give Spry Fox access to more resources for improvement of its already available offerings. As well as the projects it’s currently working on.
