The Motorola Moto X40 flagship will launch next month, and some specs have just been confirmed
Lenovo executive, Chen Jin, went to Weibo (a Chinese social network) to confirm some of the phone’s specs. As most of you know, Motorola is owned by Lenovo, so this is basically an official confirmation. Jin confirmed that the Motorola Moto X40 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. That is what we expected, but it’s nice to get a confirmation, that’s for sure. In addition to that, he confirmed that the phone will be IP68-rated. In other words, it will be water and dust resistant. That’s per course for modern flagships. By the way, the December launch part, that also comes from Chen Jin, so it’s not just an assumption. The Motorola Moto X40 will come to markets outside of China as well, but under a different name. It will be called the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, almost certainly. Motorola didn’t confirm that yet, but that’s what everyone is expecting.
The phone is expected to include a 6.67-inch 144Hz display
That being said, the device’s other specs did surface before, but they did not get confirmed. The Moto X40 is expected to feature a 6.67-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) 144Hz OLED display. It is also expected to include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. A 50-megapixel main camera will be backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto unit. That telephoto camera will offer a 4x optical zoom, allegedly. The phone is said to arrive in several different RAM configurations, including 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB RAM options. Those three variants are said to include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of storage. Chances are Motorola will reveal the Moto X40 launch date really soon, so stay tuned for that.
