A lot of people who are, themselves, parents now remember back in the day when they had to bring notes home from school. Trusting a kid to deliver a letter can sometimes be iffy. And, it becomes a lot more iffy when the note contains something bad. Nowadays, they’re more ways for a teacher to communicate with parents. Because of modern technology, parent-teacher communication can be a lot less of a chore.
Microsoft Teams will have a feature called Parent Connection
Microsoft wants to make parent-teacher communication a lot easier and more efficient. There’s a new entry on the Microsoft 365 roadmap (via techradar), and it indicates a new feature coming to Teams. It’s called The Parent Connection tool. This tool is a straightforward way for teachers to directly communicate with parents. If the teacher needs to contact the parent, they will be able to either send a text message or an email directly from Teams. When the parent receives the message, it will be in plain text. So there will be no additional formatting or HTML added to the message. This should make it easier to read. Parent Connection will be a unified way for teachers to communicate with parents if they are already using Microsoft Teams. This will eliminate the need for additional services for communication. At the moment, Parent Connection is not yet out for Teams. According to the roadmap, the feature will be coming out in February 2023. When this feature eventually launches, in a surprising turn of events, it will launch on Android first. After that, it will have a wider rollout. This could definitely be a feature to make it a better competition for the lights of Google Meet.
