The current design of mice and keyboards on the market may not be very suitable for people with disabilities and make it difficult for them to work with computers. However, Microsoft adaptive accessors are here to solve this problem and create an equal chance. The lineup includes Adaptive Mouse, Adaptive Buttons, and the Adaptive Hub. Also, the mouse and buttons support 3D-printed accessories and are highly customizable. The devices even allow you to add 3D-printed tails. There are various accessories in this lineup, supporting almost all kinds of disabilities. Microsoft says these accessories are “designed to give people with disabilities greater access to technology.” There are also some adaptive buttons that allow for adding eight programmable inputs to the computer. Of course, the version showcased has just two buttons, and Microsoft claims users can use the mouse as a joystick or as an eight-way D-pad. The buttons also support 3D-printed accessories for changing them according to specific needs.

Microsoft has also designed an Adaptive Hub that allows connecting up to four buttons wirelessly. After connecting, it sends instructions to your computer or phone. The Adaptive Hub comes with several 3.5mm jacks to support devices like Microsoft’s Xbox adaptive controller. This is not the first time Microsoft has designed and unveiled devices tailored to the disabled community. The company introduced Surface Adaptive Kit last year. The kit makes it much easier for the disabled to work with Surface devices. On the other hand, the traditional mouse and keyboards on the market are not built for the needs of the disabled. So it’s a joy to see Microsoft is showing attention and respect to the disabled community. Microsoft adaptive accessories will launch this fall. However, the price is still unknown.
