According to the official changelog, Samsung has removed the unwanted pop-up that appeared when you launched an app. It also fixed an issue with the One UI Home, where closing all the Recent apps caused it to terminate and reboot. The fourth One UI 4.0 beta build for the Galaxy S21 series further removes the stretch effect during overscroll, i.e. when you reach the end of a list. Interestingly, Samsung had introduced this effect with the previous beta release. It appears the feedback from beta testers wasn’t positive enough for the company to continue with this feature. Other notable bug fixes include the frame drop issue when the alarm went off, fingerprint recognition issue after rebooting the phone, Wi-Fi and hotspot not working in certain situations, phone restarting during a voice call, double call logs, and automatic forced closure of the keypad. Samsung is nearing the stable One UI 4.0 update
Samsung began beta testing One UI 4.0 for the Galaxy S21 series in September. With the third beta build last month, it implemented the final AOSP (Android Open Source Project) release. The company also closed the beta program for new users. All this suggested that Samsung is nearing the stable One UI 4.0 update. And as expected, the latest beta build is all about fixing bugs that were found in previous releases. Another round of bug fixes and optimizations, and we could see One UI 4.0 roll out to the Galaxy S21 series publicly. We would not be surprised if the update arrives before the end of this month. Meanwhile, Samsung is also working on releasing the One UI 4.0 beta for other Galaxy devices. The beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldables is already open. And while the company has yet to announce which device is the next in the pipeline, you can expect a few more, including the 2020 Galaxy S and Galaxy Note flagships and at least one mid-ranger, to pick up One UI 4.0 betas in the coming weeks. We will keep you updated.
