The Galaxy Tab S7 is now receiving the June security update in the US on Sprint and T-Mobile networks. The update comes with firmware version T878USQU2CVE5. Samsung’s official changelog mentions stability improvements along with the latest SMR (Security Maintenance Release). But don’t buy too much into these changelogs. They don’t always tell the full story. The European Galaxy Tab S7 units got two June updates and the second one brought some changes to how the battery percentage related to “Protect battery” is shown in Device Care. We expect this change to hit the version too. Perhaps there may be more bug fixes and optimizations. As for the content of the June SMR, Samsung has already revealed that it patches more than 70 vulnerabilities. These issues allowed unauthorized access to various device components and features, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Samsung account. Some of the issues affected all Android devices globally while others were specific to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Google and Samsung labeled a bunch of the patched flaws as critical issues. If you’re using the Galaxy Tab S7 in the US, the June security update is on your way now. If you haven’t already received it, watch out for a notification in the coming days. Alternatively, open the Settings app, scroll down to the Software update menu, and tap on Download and install to check for updates manually.

Galaxy A53 is also starting to receive the June security update

The Galaxy A53 is another Samsung smartphone that recently started receiving the June SMR. The newly released premium mid-range model, which is also available in the US, is currently picking up the latest security update in Asia. But it shouldn’t be long before the rollout expands to other regions, including the US. This phone may also be getting additional bug fixes and/or improvements along with this month’s vulnerability fixes from Samsung and Google. With June nearing its end, we expect Samsung to soon begin the rollout of the July security patch. As usual, recent flagship models will get the priority. We will keep you posted.
