The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 deliver a ton of improvements
These earbuds do look quite similar to the previous ones, but with ergonomic improvements. The case is quite compact, as are these earbuds themselves. The stem is quite short, and touch pads are included on the sides. So, where to start? Well, let’s first mention that Huawei partnered up with Devialet for this product. The company’s partnership with Devialet is not new, but it is for truly wireless earbuds.
Devialet is here to help with sound tunning
Devialet is a well-known French audio company, which does wonders when it comes to sound tuning. The FreeBuds Pro 2 comes with ‘Ultra-Hearing True Sound Dual Driver’. It combines a planar diaphragm for treble and overtones, and a quad-magnet dynamic driver for low and medium frequencies. These earbuds do come with active noise cancellation (ANC). Huawei claims that these earbuds can cancel out up to 47dB of noise, which is substantial. You’ll also be surprised by the wide sound range they offer, they go from as low as 14Hz, all the way to 48kHz.
‘True Adaptive EQ’ tech will make sure these earbuds adapt to you
On top of that, Huawei’s ‘True Adaptive EQ’ tech can automatically tune these earbuds to your ear canal structure, posture, and volume level. In other words, the earbuds adapt to you. Ont op of everything, Huawei also utilizes something called a ‘4-Mic Call Noise Cancellation System’. It is in place to make sure your voice stands out, that the background noises don’t come into play. LDAC support is in place, as is dual device pairing. These earbuds are also IP54 certified for water resistance. So, you can wear them to the gym, or running in the rain without a problem.
The battery life is also quite good
What about the battery life? Well, they’re rated to provide 4 hours of battery life with ANC on, and six and a half hours with ANC off. Those numbers rise to 18 and 30 hours, respectively, with the inclusion of the battery in the charging/carrying case. The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 come in Ceramic White, Silver Blue, and Silver Frost colors. They will become available starting from July 6, and will be priced at £169.99. They sure look great on paper, but we’ll have to test them out to see if they deliver.
