Someone from the group will need to invite you, otherwise, you won’t be able to join. Public Telegram Groups will pop up in search, but private ones won’t. How to find & join (public) Telegram Groups
The first thing you’ll need to do, of course, is open Telegram. We presume that you’re already registered and everything. So, once you open it, and end up on your main page, that’s where the fun starts. You’ll need to tap the magnifying icon in the top-right corner.
The search bar will appear, and your keyboard will pop up. Now, simply type in the name of a group you’d like to join. If you don’t know any public groups, type in what you think may be in the name of it.
For the purpose of this tutorial, I decided to type in ‘Android’, and see what will pop up. Three groups appeared, but there is also the ‘Show more’ option in the top-right corner.
Once I tapped it, several additional groups appeared. So, if you find what you like here, simply tap the group you’re interested in. You’ll notice that some of these groups are officially verified, most of which are not. Your mileage will vary based on what you typed in, of course. For the purpose of this tutorial, we’ll go for the verified ‘Telegram APKs for Android’ group.
The moment you choose the group you’re interested in, it will open, along with the belonging content. In this particular group, there is a pinned message at the top, explaining its purpose. If you like what you see in the group you’ve decided to check out, all you have to do is tap the ‘Join’ icon at the bottom of the screen.
