You’ll still need a Bluetooth headset or earbuds. Of course. But this would allow you to easily disconnect for a little while as you get some exercise in. Which for some, is a much-needed respite. To download songs from Spotify to your Galaxy Watch 4, there are a few steps to go through. But don’t worry, though. They’re all pretty simple and it shouldn’t take you too long to get some music on your watch. The biggest wait is going to be for the time it takes the songs to actually download.
How to download songs from Spotify to your Galaxy Watch 4
As noted above downloading songs from Spotify to your watch is an easy process. It just takes a few minutes to go through most steps then it just comes down to waiting for the songs to finish downloading. So here’s where to start.
Make sure the app is installed
First, you want to make sure you actually have the Spotify app installed on your watch. If it’s not there, install it. And if it is there, make sure you’re on the latest version of the app. If you’ve been using the watch daily, then the app has probably been updated. But if this is the first time you’ve turned it on in months, it’s possible the app needs an update to get to the download feature.
Launch the app and sign in
Now that you have the app, or if you’ve had it but never used it before, launch the app and sign into your account. This is a pretty simple process with the app telling you to pair with the Spotify app on your phone. You won’t actually have to log in unless you’re not logged into the Spotify app on your smartphone.
Swipe the screen to the left
As soon as you open the Spotify app on your Galaxy Watch 4, you’re taken to the play screen. Which essentially just brings up whatever you were last playing through the app on your device. It also shows recently played content from the PC app, or through the Spotify website. Since your account is linked, it’s always going to feed you the most recently played track. What you want to do after opening the app on your watch and seeing this screen, is swipe to the left to bring up a list of options. Here you’ll see Downloads, Your Library, Heavy Rotations, Shows You Might Like, New Releases For You, and more.
Tap on some content then hit the Download To Watch button
After you find something you want to download, tap on it and you’ll end up seeing a play button for that content. But just below it there will be a Download To Watch button. Tap on that to start the download. Then either wait for it to finish or you can go find more stuff to download to the watch.
You can find your ongoing downloads on the Downloads page
Remember back when you we said to swipe left from the main screen, and then you’d see Downloads at the top? Well that’s where any ongoing downloads are going to be displayed. You can view this screen to find out how much of your downloads have completed. Additionally, this is where you can go to play all the songs you downloaded. After hitting the play button, you’ll be taken to a screen to pair Bluetooth headphones or earbuds if you haven’t done this prior. Worth noting is that you can also download just about anything if you’re a premium member. Including playlists, single tracks, full albums, podcasts and more.
