The tipster claims that he got that information from his sources at Google. He did say that Google may offer a preview of its foldable smartphone at the Pixel 6 event, but that the device won’t launch there.

Google’s first foldable phone has been delayed, it won’t launch alongside the Pixel 6

Google’s first foldable smartphone, rumored to be called the Pixel Fold, has been rumored to arrive in the fall. Many expected it to arrive alongside Google’s upcoming flagships, but that won’t happen, it seems. Speaking of Google’s flagships, the source shared some Pixel 6-related information as well. Both Pixel 6 handsets are said to support 33W fast charging. We’re guessing this is wired charging, as 33W charging bricks have allegedly been spotted at Google HQ. Do note that it’s reported that neither phone will ship with a charger. Google is going the Apple and Samsung route, it seems, and will exclude chargers from retail boxes… unfortunately. That is basically all the information that was shared this time around. For those of you who have been looking to get a foldable Pixel at the same time the Pixel 6 ends up being available, that probably won’t happen.

It may still launch in 2021, though

There’s still a chance Google may fully announce its first foldable smartphone at some point this year, though. The company will likely share at least some details regarding that phone during the Pixel 6 launch event. Speaking of which, we don’t know when exactly will that event take place. Google said that both phones are coming in the fall, and knowing the company’s release schedule, they may arrive in October. If you’d like to know more about the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, feel free to check out our preview. In regards to the foldable device, well, not much information surfaced just yet. Google is, however, allegedly working on a foldable similar to the Galaxy Z Fold series.
