According to 9to5Google, the “Always send images by the link in text (SMS/MMS)” option is removed from the Google Photos menu in Messages. So there is no way to select and send images. We still don’t know why the feature was removed and whether it was intentional or a bug. However, in the Google Support page, the company says users can use Google Photos in Messages to send “sharper videos.” This might indicate that the integration between Google Photos and Messages didn’t go as expected, and users didn’t welcome the feature in initial testing.
Sending images in Messages is disabled
Before the integration happened, some sources believed that Google would only allow uploading videos to the cloud to send them as a link. However, the feature is also expanded to images. Google still hasn’t responded to the issue. But this is not something to ignore. The company will definitely release response in the coming weeks, especially when Samsung has launched Galaxy S22 series in the United States with Google Messages as the default SMS app. Despite all flaws, the integration between Google Photos and Messages could benefit users in different ways. You can easily send images and videos directly from your Google Photos account through the new process. The recipient can open them without the need for any similar account. During the past few months, Google has been busy with adding new features to the Messages app. One of the really efficient features rolled out for Messages is the “Nudges” feature. The Nudges can send reply reminders, so you don’t miss any conversation. The Messages app also will reportedly allow users to disable the pinch-to-zoom gesture. The feature is now enabled by default, and users have no way to disable it.
