If you have already searched for a TV show on Google, you could see a Watch Show section on the right side of the search results. That allows you to stream the show on different streaming services like Hulu or Disney+. This is a straightforward, hassle-free way of directing users to watch a show. Google now wants to apply the same strategy to video games. Of course, searching for a game on mobile and desktop devices could lead to showing different streaming services. This inconsistency may be because the feature is still in testing.
You’ll soon be able to start game streaming from the Google search results
Google also notifies users if the game has a free trial through Stadia or if it’s available for free. Users will also know if a game is available through a premium subscription. When you click on the Play button, the game starts to stream. Alternatively, you may be redirected to a landing page from the streamers company. The feature is still in the test phase, but it might go live globally in the coming months. Testing game streaming on the search results pages coincides with the recent move by the company to bring cloud gaming to Chromebooks. Google has also added cloud gaming titles to the ChromeOS launcher. While it was previously rumored that Google wanted to shut down its Stadia platform, the company is now turning it into the leading center for executing cloud gaming plans.
