“People have different preferences of how they want to be represented digitally,” said Ievgeniia Zhovtobriukh, Product Manager at Google, in a blog post on Monday. “Some prefer a photo of themselves, others might select a pet, and there are those who choose an object that might show a hobby or causes they support”. Google Illustrations now have them all covered. As you can see in the featured image above, Google Illustrations include a wide range of options that you can choose from. But that’s not all, of course. The company is offering numerous categories of images including technology, sports, space, animals, mountains, oceans, historical sites, and many more. Each category features several images that you can use as your Google profile picture.

Google says its illustrations are “inclusive of various cultures, interests, and backgrounds”. So whatever might be your tastes and preferences, there could be something that’d interest you. From places around the world to hobbies and mythical creatures, you can look up for anything. The new Google Illustrations are also customizable. You can adjust the colors and focus of any image to get a unique profile picture for yourself. Google even lets you use a portion of an image and customize it as per your taste.

Google Illustrations are now available to Android users

If you are an Android user, you should now be able to use the new Google Illustrations as your profile picture in Google Workspace and Contacts. The images are available from your avatar in the top right corner of the app. Of course, you can upload a saved image on your phone as well. Google Illustrations are not only useful for people who aren’t comfortable with using a photo of themselves as their profile picture but also for those who simply want something new. Of course, you could search the web for any type of images you prefer. But the company is making things easier for you. As said earlier, Google Illustrations are currently available on Android only and are limited to Google Workspace apps and Contacts. The company says more Google products, as well as platforms like iOS and Web, will pick up the support in the future. It is also working on expanding the collection. So be on the lookout for new illustrations in the coming months.
