Not too long ago, we got the news that Google Photos was making its way over to ChromeOS. This will replace the native photo editor that comes loaded with the software. Along with the photo editor, Chromebooks are getting the Photos video editor.
Chromebooks are getting a new video editor
There are two very different ways to use this video editor. The first way is for absolute beginners, and it’s the most “Google” thing ever. All you have to do is select which pictures, music, and video clips you want to use. After that, the software will handle the rest of the work. It will edit and generate the movie for you. If that’s not something you’d want, don’t worry. There’s also a mode that will let you create the video from the ground up. You’ll have access to the content in your Google Photos, and you can also add filters like the RealTone filters. If you feel like your video needs is, you can also add music and title cards. You’ll be able to seamlessly access your content that’s saved on Google Photos. Not only that, but you’ll be able to jump to the editor right from your Files app.

The Google Photos Movie editor will have some neat features, but you can’t deny that there will be a lot of hand holding. If you’re looking for a more in-depth video editing experience. This is an award-winning video editor that debuted on iPhones and iPads a while back. It’s since made its way over to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 earlier this year. Now, this professional-grade video editor is making its way to Chromebooks within the next couple of months.
Other additions coming to ChromeOS
Firstly, the Gallery app will feature a new PDF editing tool. This will be useful for making edits to documents and signing them as well. If you want to record and view transcribed presentations, you can do so with the Screencast app. This was first limited to a select group of people. Now anyone can use this app. The Cursive app will let you create hand-written notes on ChromeOS. The app will let you edit and arrange those notes to your liking. If you want to share your notes, you can easily share your notes to another application or save the notes as a PDF file. There’s a lot of stuff to look forward to with ChromeOS in the coming months. These will help all sorts of people, from business professionals to kids returning to school.
