Garmin released the last Vivosmart fitness tracker, the fourth iteration, back in 2018. With this newest iteration, Garmin keeps the overall design aesthetic the same with the small display and body encased in a silicone shell. The top of the watchband is similarly textured, as well.
So, what does the Garmin Vivosmart 5 fitness tracker bring to the table?
The main visual difference between this iteration and the last one is the display. With the Vivosmart 5, the display is a bit shorter than that of the Vivosmart 4, but it’s a bit wider. In fact, the watch itself is a bit wider this time around. A neat feature of this iteration is the ability to change the watchband. Now, it wouldn’t be a good fitness tracker if it didn’t have a host of fitness tracking sensors. You get the basic array of health monitoring sensors and tools with this watch. You get a heart rate monitor, blood oxygen monitor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a sleep monitor. The watch will also monitor your heart rate and alert you if it’s too high, too low, or abnormal. There are those and several other tools on the watch you can use to monitor your health. In terms of battery life, your mileage will vary, but the company promises some serious run time. The company didn’t state the size of the battery, but it said that you can get a maximum of seven days on a single charge. However, if you want to make it that far, you shouldn’t use the sleep tracker. If you’re interested in picking up one of these watches, they’re available to buy now. You can buy them right from Garmin for $149.99. That’s a little pricey, but it’s perfect for all of the features that you get with it.
