The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is said to be lighter than its predecessor

So, he did not exactly share the exact weight of the device, but this definitely suggests it will be lighter than its predecessor. In the comments to that tweet, a display analyst, Ross Young, added a piece of information as well. He said that the panel on the device will be “much thicker” aka heavier. If the device will be lighter than the Z Fold 3, then other components have to be lighter. Ross Young presumed the frame and the hinge will be. That makes sense, as Ice Universe hinted yesterday that the hinge of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be thinner than the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. That also goes hand-in-hand with previous Galaxy Z Fold 4 rumors. Samsung will definitely be making some changes in the hinge department.

Its display width will be “almost the same” as that on the iPhone 13 Mini

That’s not all, though. Ice Universe also said that the width of the external Galaxy Z Fold 4 display will be almost the same as that of the iPhone 13 Mini. The iPhone 13 Mini is 64.2mm wide, but that includes its bezels. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is 67.1mm wide with bezels, and its hinge. Once again, the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s hinge will be thinner. Is it possible the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be narrower despite a wider display aspect ratio? Can a thinner hinge make up for it? Well, our guess is that the width will be comparable, but we’ll see. You can also see the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in a render above the article. Do note that this is not a leak of the device, but a representation from Ice Universe, based on the available information. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to arrive in August. Samsung didn’t announce that press event yet, but the Galaxy Z Fold 3 launched in August last year, and Samsung almost always hosts its second Unpacked event of the year in August. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is also expected to arrive during that event, by the way.
