Samsung is improving the night portrait functionality on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with this update. You can now capture brighter portrait shots in dark environments. Your foldable will also let you use the telephoto (zoom) lens in Portrait mode. Additionally, both of Samsung’s newest foldables are getting improvements to the auto framing feature. The company debuted this feature on the foldable duo but introduced an enhanced version of it on the Galaxy S22 series. The changes are now rolling out to Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The feature automatically adjusts framing for a shot by zooming in or out depending on the position of the subject. It can take into account up to ten people in a frame, from a distance of five meters. Last but not least, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are getting some optimizations that improve the quality of pictures taken with third-party camera apps, including social media apps.
Samsung will roll out this camera update to more Galaxy smartphones
This “big” camera update for Samsung’s 2021 foldable duo may have begun sometime back. But the new software package is now widely available to users in Europe. It should soon reach other markets too, including the US. The updated firmware version for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is F926BXXU1CVEB and that for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is F711BXXU2CVEB. Samsung has also promised to add some of the new camera features to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S10 Lite, and Galaxy Note 10 Lite devices. Of course, some features will not reach certain incompatible models, but there’s something in store for all of them. We will let you know when the updates for these devices begin. Meanwhile, if you’re rocking the Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Flip 3, you can be on the lookout for it. Wait for notification regarding the OTA (over the air) release or head over to the Software update menu in your phone’s Settings and tap on Download and install to manually check for updates.
