First spotted by Tizen Help, the Galaxy Wearable app now lists both upcoming wearable devices during the setup process. As you can see in the screenshot attached below, the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro appear at the top. Interestingly, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro isn’t listed. Samsung would probably add the Pro model with subsequent updates for the app. According to the new report, the upcoming Samsung wearables showed up inside the Galaxy Wearable app after they reinstalled it and tried pairing their device. A recent update for the app caused it to crash or sometimes fail to open altogether. Users reinstalled the app because of this. The company is in the process of rolling out a fix. This isn’t the first time we have seen Samsung listing its upcoming devices in the Galaxy Wearable app. Last month, we saw both the vanilla Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro appear in a special version of the app meant for users participating in the One UI Watch 4.5 beta program. While that may have been unintentional, the latest addition doesn’t appear so. Samsung did something similar last year as well. The Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Buds 2 started appearing in the Galaxy Wearable app around three weeks before they went official.
Samsung is nearing the launch of the Galaxy Watch 5 series
The latest sighting, as well as the official support pages going live for the Galaxy Watch 5 series, is an indication that Samsung is nearing the launch of its new wearables. Rumors are that the Galaxy Watch 5 duo and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will go official at a Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10. They will accompany the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldables, which will be the star of the show. We are hearing that the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked will be an offline event in New York. If true, Samsung should soon announce the date and time for the event and start sending media invitations. We will let you know once we have more information.
